A cancer diagnosis is one of life’s scariest, most challenging experiences – but Palo Verde Cancer Specialists is here to help you get through it and thrive. We operate six cancer treatment centers throughout the greater Phoenix, AZ area, and we proudly treat patients facing virtually all forms of cancer. If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with bladder cancer, you may be feeling overwhelmed – but CyberKnife can help.

About CyberKnife

CyberKnife is a radiation therapy cancer treatment system that combines some of the most cutting-edge technology from several areas of medicine. Using a precision robotic arm, CyberKnife can deliver high-dose radiation directly to the site of a tumor with sub-millimeter accuracy, helping to protect surrounding tissue and allowing for treatment without an incision. Because the robotic arm can rotate 360º around the body, CyberKnife is capable of treating almost any cancerous condition.

In addition to its precision, CyberKnife uses the Synchrony Respiratory Tracking System, giving it powerful motion tracking capabilities. Thanks to this technology, CyberKnife can track and compensate for involuntary movement of the tumor caused by breathing and gases shifting in the body – all in real time. With CyberKnife, patients no longer need to wear painful braces or immobility devices, making it among the most convenient cancer treatments on the market.

CyberKnife for Bladder Cancer

If you’re diagnosed with any type of stage of bladder cancer, CyberKnife may be able to help. Whether your cancer is still in situ, growing in towards the center of the bladder, or penetrating the bladder’s muscular wall, the cancer experts at Palo Verde Cancer Specialists may be able to design an effective treatment using CyberKnife.

Every patient is different, but most CyberKnife patients receive their treatment over the course of one to five consecutive days. Treatment appointments last about an hour, and the procedure itself is comfortable and convenient: just lie on the treatment couch and let CyberKnife do the work. Depending on the shape and location of your tumor, we may create a foam mold for you to lie in to achieve proper positioning, but you won’t have to deal with uncomfortable immobility devices. Most patients feel well enough to continue with their day after treatment. Once you finish your treatment appointments, we’ll schedule a follow up to assess the status of the tumor.
